Meet The Instructors

Greetings,

Welcome to Tactical 9.1 Krav Maga Self-Defense. My name is James Shackelton and I am the Head Instructor of Tactical 9.1 Krav Maga in Shamokin PA. I have over a decade of experience in the Martial Arts industry.

My journey started in 2012 with Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiutsuisui by Trainer Chris Pheifer at Elite Performance Combat Club. By 2013 I had started Krav Maga Israel Defense by master Timothy K. Sr and learned all the levels of practitioner, Graduate and Expert in Krav Maga. By 2015, I had received my credentials of Less Lethal Weapons Instructor, 1st Dan Black Belt, Civilian and Law Enforcement Instructor. I have also received a Completion of Certificate of Krav Maga Law Enforcement training. In 2023, I received my Active Shooter Awareness Certification, along with Basic Life Support Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider, Basic First Aid, CPR, & AED certificates.

I have started training with Tashindo Goshin-Taijutsu by Christopher Brown, and so far have received my green belt. I am looking forward to training under him to receive more education.

Krav Maga is licensed and certified by The Israel Federation Krav Maga. I have met all the standards that were set by Israel Martial arts.

Hello everyone, my name is Trenton Cubbage and I am the Assistant Instructor of Tactical 9.1 Krav Maga martial arts. I started my journey in martial arts on November 19th 2022 when I met James Shackleton at Great Dane and he introduced me to Krav Maga. Within the year I have become a blue belt and got my certification in Basic Life Support and Basic First-Aid. I’m working on getting more certification so I can be an instructor like James. I started doing this because I’ve always wanted to learn how to defend myself, others and my family, as well as to be the best version of myself that I can be. James is the best trainer anyone could ask for, everything I know is because of him and I got a lot more to learn.
